We got the ok to post our entry pieces from our DT coordinator at Spellbinders, so with a little trepidation, I will post them here. The trepidation is two-fold; I've been on the end where I've submitted to a team and not been chosen, so I know how tempting it is to compare. The second part of my trepidation is because I've seen some of the other work out there, and it completely leaves me in awe! I'm so honored to have been chosen, but now after seeing some of the other entries, I know just how difficult the decision process must have been.
I have little notes on each photo, so you will get to see a little bit about each piece. I hope you like them!
My 12 x 12 layout: (I don't consider 12 x 12's to be my strong point, so this was challenging. I do more 8.5 x 11.)
My stamped piece:
My altered piece (made almost entirely of Spellbinders dies):
My digi/hybrid piece (already seen on this blog):
There was also an essay that I wrote. I felt pretty strongly that I wrote a solid essay, so I'm sure that helped. I won't bore you with it, though! I have to say, I generally don't have very good luck in this sort of contest/call - and trust me, I have tried (and tried, and tried...) in the past. The key is not to get discouraged and just keep trying, and I try to view each time as a chance to better my skills. LMK if you have any questions!
