Paper Crafts is spear-heading the third annual World Card Making Day, and in celebration of that, I'm honored to be joining 49 other talented bloggers in a fun giveaway! I'm happy to send out a copy of Paper Crafts "Cards, Gifts, & More" to a lucky winner who leaves me a comment today. Just tell me how long you've been making cards to enter! I will draw a winner Sunday evening at 6pm.
I always like to use WCMD to jump-start my holiday cards! I plan on using PTI's Made of Snow for our family's cards this year. I usually make around 75-80 cards, so I like to make them simple, but always try to add an element that is a bit unexpected (i.e., that little 'wow' factor to impress my card making friends!). Spellbinders dies are perfect for this! Here, I embossed my card front with a scalloped rectangle Nestabilities to match the scalloped edge.
The sentiment was stamped with white pigment ink and heat-embossed with a glitter embossing powder. I used the SU key tag punch and popped it up with a little foam adhesive. For the snowman, I used Prismacolor pencils and a little Glossy Accents on the eyes and buttons. Cute and easy!
OK, confession time! See the ribbon on the left? It's covering up a really bad black ink smudge. So my mistake turned into a great opportunity for just one more little extra - I love that!
Don't forget to let me know how long you've been making cards in the comments. I hope that you have a great day creating!
