There are so many ways to start a new year, but mine usually starts with a scramble. See, Wally's birthday is on the 4th, so in an effort to really delineate it from the holidays, I scramble to take down the holiday decorations and tree and to make his day special. He's officially a teenager now, which is still blowing my mind!
With my early scramble, my goals for the year usually don't gel until the second week of the year. I'd been thinking about it for a while, so here goes:
- I would like to be a better, more consistent blogger. I think that a realistic goal of 2-3 times a week will work really well for me. I received a photo tent for Christmas, so I think that will help with my photos (I won't be relying on good light days anymore!).
- I'm going to strive for balance, in all aspects of my life. Not hole-ing up in my office for days on end (like this week!), not spending too much time online (really tough since I found Facebook two weeks ago - what a web-based black hole that place is!), creating more, submitting more often, etc.
- Being better organized on a daily basis (that should probably read: "I'm turning 40 this year and can't remember a gosh darn thing unless I write it down."). This one relates to my post today.
- Finding my buried Spanish skills (thank you iTunes podcasts!).
Did you happen to see the January 1st Papertrey Ink Challenge? If you didn't, you should really check it out because it is chock full o' good ideas for organizing cards for the upcoming year. This set is a set I created yesterday - one with a great spring/summer feel. I hope these will be a hit with the recepients! You should give it a try! I love the feeling that I have some spare cards on hand! Check one of my organizational challenges off my list.
