Wee & Whimsical Wednesday

Welcome to another Wee & Whimsical Wednesday, where I focus on using Inchie Arts products in fun ways! I mentioned earlier this week how I'm itching for spring. I am already thinking about my plantings...at my old house, I had gorgeous rows of huge lavender plants by the front door, and sometimes the sprigs would hang over the sidewalk so that when someone walked by, it would release it wonderful scent and just make me smile. I'm hoping that I can do the same here, but I need to look into it a bit to make sure it would grow well here.

In the meantime, I created this card to sort of pay homage to that lavender (and spring fever!). It features both the full-size Lockhart Lavender image, as well as the Itty Bitty Lavender.

Surprise! This card also has a bookmark incorporated into the design. As you can see, I used a Black Inchie Square on this. I really wanted the colors to pop, so black was a great choice. I did the blackboard technique just a little differently this time; once I stamped the white pigment ink, I added white embossing powder and melted it with my heat gun. Then I went in, added my white colored pencil, then added color with Twinkling H2Os. The embossing is a great way to keep your watercolors from going too far...it makes a little wall that the color will stay within.

I think this is a great way to make your card just a little...MORE, know what I mean? The recipient is sure to remember the time and love you put into the bookmark and card everytime that they use it. Your challenge? Incorporate an Inchie into a bookmark that is springy! If you upload to Splitcoast, please use WWW03; I would love to feature your creation here for the next Wee & Whimsical Wednesday (with your permission, of course - I will contact you beforehand.). If you upload to your own blog, please make sure to leave the link in a comment!

Be well,

CUTE! I am liking purple lately too. Love the bookmark idea... and lavendar does grow around here- I have some down by my mailbox and it does great and I never water it-the hose won't reach that far...
