Ickie Sickies

OK, truth be told, I've been full of the ickie sickies...caught the cold from Wally, only - and I swear, this for me is THE worst thing about getting older - it's taking me forever to kick the darn thing. It's got my asthma all worked up and all night coughing fits are becoming the bane of my existence. (Dramatic enough for you?)

So, as much as you might like this card, it's for me. :) It's to make me smile, because it was inspired by something very special to me - my blanket.

I've had this blanket since I was four. My great-grandmother made it for me, and it has seen me through countless bouts of strep throat, dozens of colds and even mono. It's seen me through college heartaches and cold late nights rocking little babies back to bed. I adore it and it was the color inspiration for my Ickie Sickies card - because the sunshine-like colors have been comforting me for so long.

So why the story? I would love to see you do the same - find something that means so much to you sentimentally and use it to inspire you. Take something about it and translate that into a card. LMK when you've finished it, because I would love to see what you do!

In the meantime, I'm off to cuddle up with my blanket. ;)

Be well,

oh, and just so you know, You're not getting old. This bug going around seems to be a stonger one cuz it takes EVERYONE that's had it 2 or 3 times longer to kick the darn thing than a normal cold.

oh, I'm so sorry you're sick! I have asthma too and I will cough for a month straight if I get a cold! Feel better soon!

I love the warmth and cheeriness of your card--it really does feel as cozy and happy as your pretty blankie!

My most sentimental item is my Grandmother's wedding photo--it's in such a pretty old-fashioned frame and I really love it!
