Memorial Day Picnic

Anyone have big plans for this weekend? We do! I hope the weather holds - and I hope it holds for you, too!

This picnic image from Karen Lockhart is the perfect image for this weekend. I colored this one with Copics and paired it up with some old Paper Salon papers - I think it makes for a fresh, patriotic look equally perfect for Memorial Day or the 4th of July. You could use it for an invitation or a thank you for the kind person hosting you. It's a classic!

Speaking of classics, Karen's latest release is just that! The Patio Pots are beautiful, and I couldn't resist coloring up this great English Daisy image.

This one is colored with my old standby, Prismacolor pencils. I used a little baby oil on the terracotta pot, in case you were wondering about the effect on that. The background is stamped with the Climbing Vines backgrounder from CHF. I used a fancy flower stitch for the machine stitched accents, and a Martha Stewart border punch to pull the look altogether. This card is 4 Bar sized, so it really allows the focus to be on your image - and when you spend time and care coloring it, that's really what you want, right?

I'll be back tomorrow with a little more information about Shimmerz Spritz - so don't forget to keep checking at the Shimmerz Blog for sneak peeks.
