New Lockhart Window

I didn't mention it beforehand, but I've just returned from a great vacation to Portugal! I scheduled a bunch of posts prior to leaving (I love this feature!) so it wouldn't seem too empty here. My family and I really love to travel, and this trip was a fantastic addition to our passports. We hiked, we swam, we learned a little of a new language, and really enjoyed each other's company. I know looking at other people's travel photos can be a little tedious, but if you're interested in learning a bit more about an under-rated destination, I'm blogging about it at here; our internet access was a little spotty there, so I'm doing a little restrospect for family and friends.

When I returned home, I found a great package of the latest Lockhart Stamp Company images. I was positively giddy to see them in person, because these new window stamps just made me smile widely! I had to jump right in and color up this one! I went with a brighter color palette than I would usually choose because I really wanted it to scream summer. My color inspiration was the background paper (Basic Grey), but then I laughed a little when it was finished because the image covered up the orange and turquoise in the paper - the two colors I used most in the image! (Does that ever happen to you?) I was still really pleased with the finished product, though, and think it is a happy summer image. I can almost smell the cupcakes passing by this airy window! ;) And of course, the "Happy Cupcake Day" sentiment was just perfect along the bottom of this.

The details in this image are just amazing, and though you can't tell in this picture, I added a few extras to them with Glaze and Souffle pens (from Sakura). The image is otherwise colored with Prismacolors. As always, please let me know if you have any questions!

The new Lockhart stamps are available in stores; a store locator can be found here, in case you're doing a little traveling of your own. Be well!
