Wee & Whimsical Wednesday

Welcome to the July 1st installment of Wee & Whimsical Wednesday! If anyone has any idea as to where the time has gone, please feel free to let me know - JULY 1st?! (Shaking my head...)

So, back to the project! Today's card features a fun technique with White Inchie Squares from Inchie Arts. The technique is one that Lisa Lee (owner of Inchie Arts) calls the Exploding puzzle. It's such fun that I'm sure you will want to try it! First, you place your Inchie Squares together, select your stamp, and with a steady hand, stamp onto 4 squares (or 9, or however many you have chosen!) at once.

I chose Lockhart Strawberries to work with on this card. Many of the Lockhart images are perfectly sized for this technique. When you seperate them slightly (as I did here), it really draws your eye in to examine the details of the image.

Speaking of details, I colored this with two mediums - Copics and Shimmerz paints. Here's a closer look:

The finish on the White Inchie Squares is perfect for so many mediums! It accepts the Shimmerz paints perfectly! You can see from that picture that I painted the strawberries (with Fire Engine Red Shimmerz) and the polka dots on the bowl (with Celery Shimmerz). Plus, Shimmerz works with Copic markers without any feathering or bleeding. GREAT combination to pack a lot of punch into a small area!

You should give this Exploding Puzzle technique a whirl - it's a great way to incorporate Inchie Squares into your card in a fun way!

Be well,
