Whoo hoo - Wednesday is here! Time for another Wee & Whimsical. I don't know about you, but when I think of a space 1" square, my first thought is "that's small!". What I wanted to get you thinking about today was the incredible amount of detail that you can pack into that small space! Just take a look at that cupcake! When I break it down, you'll see just how easy it is to replicate.
First, start off with your Black Inchie Square. Using the blackboard technique, (you can reference this post and this one to learn more), stamp the Itty Bitty Checkered Border and Itty Bitty Cupcake. First add your white pencil, then color in the frame with pink on top of the white, along with the cupcake frosting. Add white pencil for shadows on the cupcake paper, as well as the ground.
Next, apply a strong liquid adhesive (I use Glossy Accents here) to the frosting, and apply clear micro beads. Allow to dry. Add Red Stickles for the cherry on top for the perfect touch. Once that's all dry, I added a little white paint to the edges of the Inchie Square.
I repeated the process a couple more times to create this:
By mounting them on a coordinating pink paper, the pink accents on the Inchie squares come shining through. I used two sets of Megabilities (this rectangle and this scalloped rectangle) to create the look. I mounted it all on 3M transparency cut to a 3" x 6" card base, and added more white paint to edge. The "Happy Cupcake Day" is a Lockhart sentiment that is a must have in any cupcake collection!
So, what do you think? I hope this inspires you to pack a huge punch into one little inch! Give it a try and don't forget to let me know where to check it out.
