Year of Flowers: Violet

There were so many new concepts introduced last month at Papertrey Ink, that it's tough to really say what my favorite is. One that I've been excited about for a while now, though, is The Year Of Flowers. February's set was Violets and it is a real beauty. The design team made such amazingly gorgeous samples with it! (Don't they always? Each one of them just blow me away with their seemingly endless talent!)

I put a few subtle touches on this card that might be tough to see; the background on the Stamper's Select is Background Basics: Petal Power in Versamark ink with a shimmery chalk on top. The layer behind that is Papertrey's Vellum Cardstock after it got a sweet lil' Tin Types impression plate treatment. Oh, this is so yummy on the vellum! Just wait til you try it for yourself!

So, honestly, I'm still not sure about the coloring on this piece. I'm not really crazy about it, but I was trying for variations...I think I could use some more practice with this one! :) Of course, the stamp is so pretty on its own that you don't even need to color it - it's great line art!

I hope you have some creative time scheduled in today - maybe even with this fantastic set. (And just wait til see what's coming up for March!) ;) Be well.

I don't know what you are talking about. I really like the coloring. It has an Impressionistic feel about it that is very cool.
